Kyle koronka
Kyle Koronka enjoys a multifaceted career as a performer and music educator. Kyle was named Principal Trumpet of the Austin Symphony Orchestra in 2023. Prior to this position, Kyle served as Second Trumpet in the orchestra, beginning in 2014. In addition to performing, Kyle is passionate about teaching and maintains a private teaching studio with students from all across the greater Austin area. Kyle Koronka is an Artist Clinician for the Yamaha Corporation of America and co-director of the Austin Trumpet Camp. As an orchestral musician, Kyle has shared the stage with acclaimed artists ranging in style from Andrea Bocelli to Asleep at the Wheel. He can be heard as a soloist in the 2024 film The Long Game, directed by Julio Quintana. In 2018, Kyle was a featured soloist with the Texas Bach Festival Orchestra on Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 by J.S. Bach. He has performed with many orchestras around Texas, including the Fort Worth Symphony, Round Rock Symphony, Waco Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic and Brazos Valley Symphony. Kyle completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University, where he received the Donald I. Moore Award for Outstanding Senior Instrumentalist. He earned a Master of Music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he was recipient of the Armando Ghitalla Memorial Scholarship. At the University of Texas at Austin, he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, while serving as Graduate Teaching Assistant. His primary teachers include Ray Sasaki, Marie Speziale, Wiff Rudd, Dr. Michael Ewald and Barry Hopper.
