Cellist Anna Park began studying at the age of 11 in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University where she studied with Alan Stepansky. Following her education at Peabody, Anna completed her Master of Music degree from Northwestern University with Hans Jørgen Jensen. Some of her other influential teachers and coaches include Martha Gerschefski, Carole Neuen-Rabinowitz, Dr. Sylvia Wang, Gerardo Ribeiro and the members of the Peabody Trio. In addition, Anna has had the pleasure of performing in masterclasses for Yo-Yo Ma, Norman Fischer, Amanda Forsyth, Scott Kluksdahl, and Matt Haimowitz.
An active performer, Anna has performed with numerous ensembles including the Houston Symphony, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She is currently a member of the Austin Symphony, the principal cellist of the Victoria (TX) Symphony, and the assistant principal of the Round Rock Symphony.
Anna is also a dedicated teacher and has served on the faculties of Wood Bridge Music Company in Maryland, Solo Classic Inc. in Illinois and Armstrong Community Music School in Texas. When she is away from the cello, Anna enjoys spending time with her cellist husband, Frank, Ansel the cat, and Piper the chihuahua.
